Before 1996 I had several passions. A college administrator while in my 20s I was passionate about Christian Higher Education. Then I spent 2 years in Mexico and rekindled a love for Hispanic people and their language and culture. But in 1996, when my husband and I started being foster and then adoptive parents, I fell into a space that will remain my passion. I discovered what happens to kids when they age out of foster care.

What happens, you ask? They end up homeless, incarcerated, pregnant and repeating the cycle, or sex trafficked. They are uneducated and unprepared, unemployed or underemployed. I began finding homes for kids in foster care -- my own home and then there's. Now I've recognized that they can't age out if they don't enter in the first place... thus my passion for prevention and diversion programs. Click around to read more.
